Château de Beaucastel

I must start the writing about wine by bringing up my favorite wine Château de Beaucastel from the area Châteauneuf-du-Pape in France. The red is excellent, and the white is not bad either (an understatement of course).

This has been one of my favorites long before I understood it is a very pricy wine, and a wine that can last very long in your celler. I think I finished a case of 1998 some years ago…a case I really would have liked to have now.

My friend Kurtis found some bottles of the 1998 in London, and if one read recent articles in Wine Spectator one can see those bottles might mature in a quite good way.

If you have not had Chateau de Beaucastel, and manage to find some bottles that are not too pricy, go for it. You will not regret it.
