Board of SiS revoke working group decision on OOXML

In a pressrelease the board of SiS say they revoke the decision by the working group last Monday. The reason behind the decision is that in their view one member casted more than one vote.

They further say they find it in reality difficult for the working group to cast another ballot before the voting in ISO closes on Sep 3, and if no new voting can be done, Sweden will not vote.

This was for me the only correct decision SiS could make, and what I was hoping for. Although according to the rules members in an SDO have not made any errors, there are situations when the decisions must be overruled.

Proposals for standards should be evaluated according to the quality of the proposal, and nothing else.

Well done SiS!
