Can we trust Kurtis or not?

In a blog entry FP is complaining on the fact Kurtis in his blog uses smileys, and because of that one can not trust him. Part from that blog entry being factually wrong (I am not on IAB anymore, and Bill Woodcock has never been), it is also wrong in claiming one can not trust Kurtis.
