Estonia urges UN Member States to cooperate against cyber crimes

From Hillar at the Estonian CERT, I got a link to a statement by the Estonian President. I think the statement is rational and correct.

The statement refer to things that might be hard to find, The Convention on Cybercrime by Council of Europe and the ITU initiative on Cybersecurity.

For me the important discussions are not directly on cybercrime, but how to ensure harmonization of laws, regulation and law enforcement activities while at the same time ensure the sovereign status countries have. Reason for this is that much of the crime that is hard to do something about is that the criminals hide in the jurisdiction where it is the easiest to hide. And this is possible because Internet exists regardless of country boundaries.

**Updated:**Also my friend Kurtis wrote about this in his blog.
