Time and frequency in Sweden
One of the reports I have been working on lately has to do with distribution of time on the Internet, and actually a bit more than that. It also talks about the need for a good definition of time, what time it is, and how the evolution actually moves forward so fast that research and development is needed. We (in the expert group that wrote the report that is) in fact suggest an increased investment in time in Sweden.
The document sent to the government and the report itself only exists in Swedish for now, but when I see the translation of the summary that is produced, I will update this blog entry.
This is an intermediary report from N 2006:14 Legal metrologi, tid och frekvens samt riksmätplatser specified in 2006:106.
We can also note the positive writing in the budget for 2008:
Under 2007 utreds delar av metrologiområdet. Utredningen förväntas ge underlag och förslag vad gäller bl.a. reglering, omfattning, ansvar, finansiering m.m. avseende legal metrologi, spårbar tid och frekvens samt riksmätplatser (dir. 2006:106).
