New (wrong) address

Mary writes about issues with the centralized address management we have in Sweden. If only one of the parties in some not-well-defined federation of organisations get the wrong address, and suddenly that information is the truth.

Myself, I got information from the .SE Registry that I have changed my address. I of course sent mail back saying that I have not changed my address at all. The registry of course did not believe me (surprise). After checking the source of this address change I found that was the Swedish Post that suddenly had changed the zip code of the house I live at. Believe it or not. Without any notification to us, and without any change in how the post is sorted.

After checking with the Swedish Post, they admitted they have made a mistake, and that they now will change the zipcode back to what it is supposed to be.

It is good an address change is propagating automatically, but it is interesting to see how much organisations trust The Federation of Trusted Sources better than myself.
