Budget for Sweden for 2009 released

Monday this week, the budget. Mary also writes about this in her blog Minamoderatakarameller.

I note by the way that it in the budget is written explicitly:

Utbyggnaden av Rakel är försenad till följd av tidigare problem med upphandling av systemet och att systemet inte levererats i avtalad takt. Användaranslutningen till systemet har gått långsammare än beräknat och regeringen har därför från och med 2008 förändrat finansieringsmodellen.

And finally:

Under januari 2007 drabbades samhället hårt av stormen Per och Rakelsystemet slogs till viss del ut. Med utgångspunkt i de erfarenheter som stormen gav, har åtgärdsförslag i syfte att ytterligare förstärka systemets robusthet tagits fram. Huvuddelen av förslagen innebär en förstärkning av elförsörjningen till basstationerna.

I think I do not have to say anything more. What a waste of time, money and resources. And what a fiasko for people in Sweden that thought the government wanted to help ensuring they get good cellphone coverage.

Now KBM and a few other organisations will be merged into a new organisation is created. I am pretty sure I will write in the future about that.
